BE Mentor Development

Biophilic Education is a new approach to teaching and learning, bringing together years of academic research in the fields of psychology and neuroscience. We are shifting the values away from an all knowing, authoritative teacher figure that stands at the front of the class to fill empty children with remembered knowledge, to a shared learning journey where a teacher becomes a facilitator of learning.

We ask students what they are interested in, what they are curious about and help them discover where their talents lie. We foster environments where both teachers and students can explore their passions, grow in confidence and collaborate to produce innovative and imaginative solutions to the worlds problems.

“Give thanks for what you have been given.
Give a gift, in reciprocity for what you have taken.
Sustain the ones who sustain you and the earth will last forever.”

― Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants

BE Mentor Development

We offer training in the Biophilic approach to learning for individual teachers and as CPD in schools. Teachers with a Level 1 BE Mentor Certificate are able to deliver our DVLS Curriculum and DVQ Assessment Framework in licensed schools/hubs.

Our training prepares teachers to deliver a 21st century, skills-based pedagogy through transdisciplinary, real world projects. All the knowledge we teach is applied so that students can grasp a deeper understanding of the content and can use their learning in different contexts.

Our BE Mentors can learn alongside students and share the discovery of learning new things. We encourage co-mentoring with teachers from different specialisms working together and sharing expertise.

BE Mentor Development for Small Schools and Home Ed Hubs

Do you want to build your own small school or home Ed learning hub?

Working in partnership with Progressive Education, BE All held a webinar in July 2023 to gather parents, educators and community builders that need support setting up their own learning communities. We are providing comprehensive teaching resources from our Da Vinci Life-Skills Curriculum and year long (50 hours) Level 1 BE Mentor training to support the delivery of our learning content.

These joint sessions start in December for a January delivery of content and in July for an August/September start. They are 1 or 2 hour online sessions that are delivered across the teaching year. To keep the cost as low as possible, we would like to give educators the chance to be trained as a group so that the fee can be shared between small schools and learning hub community start-ups.

If potential teachers would like to start the training at a different point they can form their own group and approach us with a start date.
